On 23 March 2022, The Durban EDGE launched its INNOVATION-SERIES of webinars, which unveiled new and cutting edge research such as ward level GDP, anonymised firm level employment, and postal code level export data. In this session, the Economic Development Unit will release results of SARS tax data researched and analysed by the PSIR department to provide useful insights for the City’s decision makers. The keynote speaker and researcher was Mr Justice Matarutse: Innovation Manager, Economic Development Unit. The data was originally mined through a partnership between the National Treasury and all metros.
